London-based Sarah Murrow, who has worked at Euler Hermes since joining the Baltimore office in 2004, became the first female Managing Director of the credit insurer’s UK and Ireland operations.
Murrow’s promotion – Market Management, Commercial Underwriting and Head of Distribution for Northern Europe – took effect earlier this month. His predecessor, Milo Bogaerts, was chosen to assume the post of CEO of the Northern Europe region.
“At Euler Hermes,” said Murrow, “our goal is to facilitate safe commerce. As CEO for UK & Ireland my aim is to work with clients and partners to expand our products and services, giving more businesses the confidence to achieve their ambitions.
“It’s also critical that I make sure our staff continue to have a great employee experience. “
A full member of the Allianz group, Euler Hermes, headquartered in Paris, employs 5,800 people in more than 50 countries.
Bogaerts, who was head of UK and Ireland from 2017, commented: “We are building trust for commerce and helping our customers out of the pandemic.
“Sarah has excellent experience in understanding the needs and ambitions of our clients and partners. Her commercial background makes her the ideal person to help our clients grow throughout the recovery.
